Ozkit Homes Review from KHB

Update: the website www.ozkit.com.au appears to be closed down.

This is an Ozkit Homes Review of the website. "Ozkit Homes offer floor systems, frames and trusses available in steel or timber, to suit level or sloping sites. A wide variety of claddings are available, so the house can be individually finished to taste. Blue scope steel colorbond roofing and accessories are standard.

All exterior timbers are Australian hardwood, milled in our factory including hardwood posts, beams and decking. Many of their kit homes are modified to suit the individual need of their customers, as well as tailored to take advantage of specific sites, views and aspects." (Website copy). NB. The webpage has closed down as of 2018!! I'm unsure if they are still trading.

This site is excellent ..more than enough information and graphics to make a decision about whether to use them as a provider. I wish all provider sites were this good. This provider supplies and specialises in 'build your own' home kits.

Hi I am looking for information on Ozkit truss specifications and wind rating

Rob SA

Hi Rob
Sorry for the delay. I have been trying to contact Ozkit, but have received no reply. You probably know by now that their website has been closed down, which is usually a bad sign. They may have re-emerged as another company but Im not sure what that would be.
My advice... find another provider unless you get a sound answer.
Search: "kit homes south australia" and surf through the result. There are many national providers who have agencies in Adelaide, as well as local firms, although website contact pages rarely show an office store front address these days. A local firm would halve your delivery costs, as long as you can verify its value as a provider. How? Ask to talk to OBs who have built their kits. Easy as that.
1. Most providers supply frames at a minimum N3 wind rating specs. That's 140kmh plus strength. The supplied frame specs will be adjusted up to your build site requirements, other wise it wouldn't pass the DA.
2. My last frame was a panel frame and had no trusses. I talk about it extensively in my ebook 'Steel Yourself" :)

You can have a look here.....   www.kithomebasics.com/pdf-ebooks.html.

best of luck
